The tour of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is an unforgettable experience. The road is paved with stone blocks and has stairs, tunnels and wooden bridges that cross rivers, temperate valleys, and the warm and cold cloud forest highlands. All this set makes the visitor meditate about the intellectual and spiritual greatness of the Andean man whose highest achievement was the Inca civilization.
The Inca Trail starts at Km 82 Piskacucho the railroad Cusco – Machu Picchu, here will start our trek. We have lunch in Miskay with a stop in 1 hour and 30 minutes, and then restart the walk to the first camp in Yunkachimpa, after a tour of the Archaeological Group of Llactapata. On the second day the walk starts at the highest point along the Inca Trail, where we observe different microclimates. We went to the Warmiwañusca pass about 4.200 meters. Then lunch, we camped in the area and then dine at Paqaymayo Runkurakay.
The journey takes between 4 to 5 days, until the Intipunku sector, where we can appreciate the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu. We entered the Citadel, where we recorded the control of our arrival, and started the tour, then we will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes to finally return to Cusco by train.
