DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN LIMA
Pick up upon arrival at Lima’s airport and transportation to your hotel. (No meals)
DAY 2 – ARRIVAL IN PARACAS AND NAZCA LINES TOUR
From Lima, take a bus transfer to Paracas, a popular coastal destination that’s south of the capital of Peru. Continue by car to the Pisco airport to board a small plane to take a flight tour. During your awe-inspiring flight over the Nazca Lines, view the famous glyphs including the condor, the hummingbird, and the monkey. After landing, transfer to your hotel in Paracas and relax for the rest of the evening. (B)
DAY 3 – BALLESTAS ISLANDS TOUR & RETURN TO LIMA
Board your boat tour at Paracas port, and set out to see the Ballestas Islands. Along the ride out of the bay, pass the Candelabro glyph etched into a sandy hillside and then continue to the rocky isles that are teeming with marine wildlife. After your tour, enjoy the rest of the morning at your hotel in Paracas. In the afternoon, transfer to the bus station for your trip back to Lima. Spend the night at your hotel in Lima. (B)
DAY 4 – ARRIVAL IN CUSCO
In the morning, take a flight to Cusco. Our representative will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Take it easy as you adjust to the altitude of the high Andean region and rest up. The historic center of Cusco around the Plaza de Armas is a wonderful place to walk around and discover nearby attractions and restaurants. (B)
DAY 5 – CUSCO CITY TOUR
Enjoy a guided tour of the highlights of Cusco. Visit the amazing sites in and around the city, including the Cusco Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas, Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), and the fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Enjoy free time for the rest of the day and spend the night at your hotel in Cusco. (B)
DAY 6 – SACRED VALLEY TOUR
The Sacred Valley was the spiritual center of the Inca Empire. After breakfast, meet your guide at your hotel and set out for a full day tour of the Valley. Visit the ruins and artisan market in Pisac, stop for lunch (not included) in Urubamba, and later, in the afternoon, explore the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo. After the tour, return to your hotel and have time to relax. (B)
DAY 7 – MACHU PICCHU TOUR
Your day begins with an early morning train ride to Machu Picchu. Aboard the train, witness the mountain landscapes of the Sacred Valley transition to lush subtropical foliage that surrounds the famous Inca ruins. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, the gateway town to Machu Picchu, meet our representative at the train station to be accompanied to the bus station for a 20-minute ride up to the secluded citadel. Next, take a tour of Machu Picchu with our guide and admire the beautiful scenery.
In the afternoon, take a comfortable train back to Cusco and transfer to your hotel in Cusco for the night. (B)
DAY 8 – ARRIVAL IN PUNO
In the morning, take a comfortable bus ride from Cusco to Puno. The bus will make a few stops for guided visits to important pre-Columbian and colonial sites, including Raqchi and Andahuaylillas. Upon arrival to Puno, a representative will meet you and accompany you to your hotel. Overnight at your hotel in Puno. (B, L)
DAY 9 – LAKE TITICACA TOUR
Depart from Puno port to begin your full-day exploration of Lake Titicaca. Step onto the spongy surface of the Uros Floating Islands and learn how islanders use the totora reeds in all aspects of their daily lives. Continue to Taquile Island to see how indigenous people maintain their traditions on a rocky island on the world’s highest navigable lake. In the late afternoon, return to your hotel in Puno. (B)
DAY 10 – SILLUSTANI TOUR & DEPARTURE FROM PUNO
Sillustani is the main archaeological attraction in the Lake Titicaca region. In the morning, take a guided half day tour to this site. Your guide will explain the history of this mysterious pre-Inca site.
Later, take a transfer to the airport. (B)
