The road network was created by the Incas, and today you can go on hikes, the most famous is the Inca Trail, it takes from 4 to 5 days. It starts in a town of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley and ends in Machu Picchu. Another alternative is Slakantay trek, the longest, it takes 7 days and starts in Mollepata and generally end in Aguas Calientes, once there you have to take the bus to Machu Picchu, which last 25 minutes ride, or you can do it walking, this lasts around 2 our and is a simple and pleasant walk.

This is an amazing experience, the landscapes are unique, and you will see a variety of flora and fauna, microclimates from different altitudes, mountains. Regulations allow only 500 visitors per day, including porters and guides. Take your passport with you, do not forget to bring a sunblock and also an insect repellent, hat, if you want to buy some souvenirs take money in cash. Generally tour operator provides sleeping bags and tends. Something important do not forget your camera to capture this fabulous experience.
