Inca Trail regulations are based on strict statements that all tourist must comply. These regulations were made in order to protect the environment and reduce deterioration of the place because of the excessive visits.

Document given by the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary Management Unit (UGM) is the only one that assures the payment for Right of Use of the Network of Inca Trails and also it includes the entrance to Machu Picchu. This payment will not be repayable under any circumstance.

We recommend making reservations in advance because there are a limit number of persons on the Inca Trail. (500 per day including trekkers, guides, assistant guides, cooks and porters)

Recognized by UNESCO as the World Heritage Cultural and Natural. There are three routs to Machu Picchu: Classic Inca Trail which is 4d/3n, the Sacred Inca Trail 2d/1n and the Salkantay Alternate Trek which is the longest of the three.

To confirm the reservation you will need to provide the agency the following information:
• Complete Name as the passport
• Nationality
• Date of birth
• Passport Number
• 100% of payment

People with a valid International Student Identification Card will be considered as a student, they will have a discount on the Use of the Network of Inca Trails entrance fee.

Prohibitions

It is forbidden to walk for the Inca Trail Network between 19:00 and 5:30.

It is forbidden to extract, acquisition and destruction of any species of flora and fauna in the area.

Do not throw trash on the road.

You can not bring radios or speakers, or should make sounds that alter the environment.

Do not disturb the animals.

Fossil fuels such as kerosene, diesel oil, gasoline.

Campfires are prohibited

Equipment
We recommend bringing:
• Backpacks
• Sleeping bags
• Hiking shoes or boots.
• Tents
• Water Flask
• Personal Medical Kit.
• Rain coat or poncho
• Warm clothes
• Insect repellent
• Sun block, sun glasses and hat

About your health
Altitude sickness is due to lack of oxygen; some of the symptoms are headache, nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath, dizziness. That is why is recommended drinking coca tea is, it will helps you to avoid altitude sickness and avoid alcohol and cigarettes.
