Tambopata Amazon Adventure is an
exciting tour that combines adventure activities and nature expeditions in
the Amazon Rainforest. Learn about the jungle during daily walks and
activities surrounded by beautiful natural sceneries. Explore one of the
most bio-diverse regions on the planet with great chances to see wild
mammals, exotic birds, fish, and reptiles. Enhance your jungle adventure and
participate in kayaking excursions, tree climbing, zip lines and canopy
walks, and more! Stay in a rustic and comfortable hotel and camp for a night
on a small island amidst a swamp deep in the jungle.
Day 1 Puerto Maldonado –Tambopata National Reserve
A staff member will await your arrival at the airport and transfer you to
Wasai Maldonado Eco Lodge. There you will be welcomed with delicious
tropical juice while the guide gives you a brief explanation of the tour and
provides some last minute tips for your trip.
You will then be transferred by car to the port to embark in an outboard
boat to the Wasai Tambopata Lodge located in the buffer Zone of the
Tambopata National Reserve. Depending on the river conditions the journey
will take between 3 to 4 hours.
During the journey you may observe different kinds of birds and mammals that
inhabit the river banks such as capibaras, caimans, taricayas and
oropendolas.
Upon your arrival to Tambopata lodge, the staff will help you to settle in
to your bungalow accommodations.
Your guide will then give you a brief introduction and provide some tips to
maximize your security and comfort during your stay in the Amazon jungle.
Then, your guide will introduce you to amazon rainforest ecosystems with a
nocturnal walk.
Dinner
You will enjoy the sounds of the jungle during the next few nights.
Overnight at Wasai Tambopata eco lodge.
Day 2 Parrot’s Clay Lick – Amazon Adventure
Early in the morning we will walk for about 30 minutes to visit a Parrot’s
Clay Lick near the Gato River. There you will see many species of parrots,
macaws, and other birds and animals that live in this National Reserve.
We will then visit a native community to observe how Amazon people live and
use the natural resources of the forest to survive.
After that, we will return to the Lodge for breakfast. Should you decide, we
can stop at a nice cascade on the way back where you could swim or just
relax.
After a short rest we will take a ride along the tambopata river on a wooden
canoe or individual kayacks. This activity accommodates all physical
conditions and ages. During this adventure activity we will enjoy amazing
landscapes and watch the birds and wildlife along the river bank. And
weather permitting, we will relax and bathe on any of the beaches along the
Tambopata river.
Lunch
You will start the afternoon with a botanical walk to a remote swamp area
and our “Amazon Adventure Site.” Along the way, you will have the
opportunity to experience the great biodiversity of our jungle and learn
about the hidden medicinal secrets of its plants.
At the “Amazon Adventure Site” you may choose to participate in a range of
activities such as climbing along rope bridges, fishing in the swamp, or
crossing it with one of our Zip lines which range from 50 to 100m long (160
to 320 feet) and various altitudes. Or simply relax and enjoy the beauty of
your surroundings.
Overnight at the camp site.
You will camp at Fire Island- a small island close to the swamp, and eat
tropical food for dinner
Day 3 Tree Climbing - Canopy Platform – Fishing – Mamals Collpa
Before breakfast you will start a walk to Venado creak where you will have a
good chance to see some wild animals like red Howler monkeys, tropical birds,
and Peccary due to its proximity to the mammal’s clay lick.
Return to the camping area to fish and have breakfast.
Around 10 am you will return to the Lodge for a talk about tree-climbing
techniques with one of our specialists. You will have practical
demonstrations and safety instructions before the climb.
Lunch
After a break, you will climb up a gigantic tree to a canopy platform 47
meters high (over 125 feet), from which you will be able to enjoy the
breathtaking canopy and landscapes of the jungle from the perspective of the
birds.
At sunset, you will have an introduction to the caiman of the rivers and
their behaviors, after which you will board the boat and proceed to search
for orange eyes along the river bank.

Machu Picchu and my entire visit to Peru were
wonderful. A dream come true.
I could not have been happier with everyone I met through your
arrangements.
The tours were very informative and showed me more than I knew
existed in this beautiful place.
All of the accommodations were very comfortable.
The luncheon buffet at the Alhambra was top rate. And the Ferré
Hotel in Lima was also a very good choice.Your personal assistance
throughout was exceptional!
Thank you for everything!

I was one of
the “Joel Williams” party of four who was recently on a Peru Gateway
Travel tour of northern and southern Peru. I had to write so you
would know how satisfied we were with the hotel accommodations, the
tour guides, the restaurants they choose for our lunches and just
everything about the trip.
The hotels we stayed in were well located, clean and convenient in
every way. We have absolutely no complaints!
Our tour covered Peru from the north to the south. It had four
internal flights, so there were many connections, pick ups and
deliveries involved. Peru Gateway Travel made sure we were always
delivered on time to the airports and promptly met and picked up
when we landed. We never had a moments worry.
Since we had many different day tours, we had several different
guides. All were professional and spoke our language well. All were
very knowledgeable and eager to impart that knowledge to us. They
chose great places for our lunches and the cuisine was
unforgettable. We have traveled to many countries but found the food
in Peru to be absolutely wonderful.
I also wanted to mention the drivers who picked us up at all times
of the day and night, drove us to our next destination and the
delivered us safely to our hotels. We never had a driver who was
less than prompt, courteous and most importantly, a skilled and
careful driver.
The sites we saw were the places we chose to see. And they did not
disappoint us. From the desert to the Andes to the Jungle, we
enjoyed it all.
Please feel free to use this email on your website or as a
testimonial. All four of our group would recommend Peru Gateway
Travel to anyone planning a trip to Peru. We were well taken care
of, enjoyed delicious food, saw awesome sights and had a wonderful
time.
Sincerely.

I am now back
home but still not believed that the holiday is over. I just
write you to tell you that I had a wonderful time in Peru and to
thanks for
your support. The circuit was very well designed and I had the
opportunity
to visit all the important sites I envisaged and also the Sacred
Valley and
the Altiplano.
I was really impressed by the organization and your people, always
in time
for pick up and interested to offer the necessary information.
Finally I showed to my friends that Peru is not so far and a visit
there
could be a wonderful experience. For me was a dream come true.
Many thanks to you and to your team.

My 2 adult children and I recently returned from our
hike to Machu Picchu and I wanted to thank you for all your
assistance. Our trip was great. We very much enjoyed visiting your
beautiful country. I especially want to praise our guide, cook and
porters. They did a terrific job. The food was marvelous and after a
long hike it was definitely something to look forward to. The
porters were very kind and when I needed some assistance at the end
of the 3rd day one of the porters helped me a lot. Our guide was
great. He was very knowledgeable and fun to hike with and he seemed
to really love his job. Again, thanks so much for everything
