Mito District. This is a mysterious dance destined to preserve the
morality of the village. The Huacon or masked man was known as the highest
ranked authority. By mid day difficult tasks are carried out, such as the
"Caramusa". |

Huancavelica |
Lost Child Feast. Popular feast, that dramatizes the
adoration of the Infant Jesus, Dancers Competition (Negritos) all over the
city. That celebration lasts four days. It is also known as : "Niño Ojje". |

The week of the Lima foundation. Official acts
commemorating the foundation. Cultural exhibition, popular fair and tour
to "Colonial Lima". The Main Square declared as "Main Square of the
Iberoamerican Culture". Tourist circuits around downtown in colonial
trolleys. |

Patronal feast of Chiquinquira Virgin.
Great display of popular dances, handicrafts selling. Night
popular fair with fireworks. |

Cusco |
Chearaje in
Canas. Struggle within communities as in the Inca period, with slingshots
"waracas" and "liwias" and other weapons as well, to flirt with the young
girls of the town. |

La Libertad |
National Marinera Contest. The
most beautiful feast of the northern folklore. Hundreds of couples,
infants, juniors and adults contend for the greatest prize: "El Pañuelo de
Oro" (The gold handkerchief). |
