Day 1 - (TUESDAY)
Meeting and assistance upon arrival in Quito and transfer to the Hotel for overnight.
Day 2 – (WEDNESDAY)
Departure from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra (a flight of about two and half
hours). Passengers will be picked up by our guides at the airport and taken
to the Coral I and Coral II. Santa Cruz (Dragon Hill)
Wet landing. Visitors walk to a saltwater pond, which is occasionally
visited by pink flamingos. Then they’ll hike up to Dragon Hill, which
provides a beautiful view of the bay.
This area is a nesting site for numerous reintroduced land iguanas.
There is also a peculiar scalesia tree forest.
Santa Cruz (Venice)
Dinghy ride around the islet along the coast of Santa Cruz. The land iguanas
inhabiting Venice are protected from the wild dogs on the island of Santa
Cruz. In Santa Cruz it is possible to observe the vegetation and marine
animals like: spotted eagle rays and golden rays, mullets, white-tipped reef
sharks and Pacific green sea turtles which rest in the calm waters of the
coves and channels.
Day 3 - (THURSDAY) RAVIDA
(JERVIS)
Wet landing. The volcano-formed beach is dark red and is a favorite
place for sea lions. It’s considered the geographic center of Galapagos
because it has the most diverse volcanic rocks on the Islands.
You’ll hike to a salt-water pond, where flamingos can sometimes be found.
July through September is a good time to observe brown pelicans nesting in
the salty bushes. Boobies and nine species of Darwin’s finches can also be
observed.
You can take a dinghy ride by the reefs, as well as snorkel.
Santiago (Egas Port)
Wet landing on a dark-sand beach. Most of the landscape is tuff-stone layers
and lava flows. You can observe hunting herons, great blue herons, lava
herons, yellow-crowned night herons and oyster catchers.
Passengers will see marine
iguanas grazing on algae beds alongside red Sally Light-foot crabs. There is
a colony of fur seals swimming in deep cool-water pools.
Here you can swim and snorkel
and find octopuses, sea horses, star fish.
Day 4 - (FRIDAY) FERNANDINA
(ESPINOSA POINT)
Dry landing. Visitors will see the biggest marine iguanas mingling with
red Sally Light-foot crabs, as well as flightless cormorants nesting sites,
Galapagos penguins, Galapagos hawks, and sea lions.
Among the flora and volcanic
formations, observers will spot brachycereus cactus, and “pa-hoe-hoe” lava
and “AA” lava formations. Numerous mangrove beds extend into the sea.
Isabela (Tagus Cove)
Dry landing on Galapagos’s largest island. Visitors will learn about the
five volcanoes that formed this island with their eruptions.
The trail leads to Darwin’s salt-water pond and an excellent view of the
lava fields and volcanic formations.
You’ll take a dinghy to observe marine life. Galapagos penguins can often be
seen here. Opportunity for snorkeling.
The graffiti are believed to have been written by 19th-century pirates and
they help passengers appreciate the relationship between the islands and
tourism today.
Day 5 - (SATURDAY) BARTOLOME
Dry landing. Passengers will see volcanic formations such as lava bombs,
spatter, and cinder cones. After hiking to the summit you can enjoy a great
view of the surrounding islands, including Pinnacle Rock’s eroded tuff cone.
On the way to the summit, you’ll often see colonies of marine iguanas, lava
lizards, tiquilla and various cacti.
You’ll be able to snorkel and see the Galapagos penguin, sea turtles, and
white tipped sharks at a safe distance.
Santa Cruz (Black Turtle Cove)
Located near Las Bachas beach on the northern side of the island. Passengers
will take a dinghy through the mangrove. The motor is turned off to allow
close observation of marine turtles, white-tipped reef sharks, spotted eagle
rays, and yellow rays.
Day 6 - (SUNDAY) SANTA CRUZ
(Charles Darwin Research Station)
Travelers will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, staffed with
international scientists conducting biological research and conservation
projects. Here you’ll be able to admire the giant tortoises involved in the
breeding program.
Visitors can also admire the prickly-pear cactus forest and many land birds.
Later on, you’ll have some free time to walk around town and shop for
souvenirs.
Disembark at Baltra. Passengers will take a bus to the airport for the
flight back to the mainland via Guayaquil to Quito.

Our tour to
the islands on Lake Titicaca was a
wonderful day. We had great weather and the people that we met
were very friendly. The island of Taguile was a beautiful little
paradise. The hotel in Puno was very good, with a great
breakfast. It is too bad we could only stay one night. We kept
the room for the second night so that we could freshen up before
going on the bus to Cusco Peru.
Thank you for everything that you have done to make our trip so
enjoyable. Please pass along to Christi our thanks for the great
job that she did in organizing our tour. She was able to
assemble an itinerary that included everything that we asked for
and still was not too rushed. It was an enjoyable, informative
and relaxing time.
Thank you again to all of the staff at
Peru travel Gateway
and your suppliers for making this a wonderful experience.

We had a very nice trip to Peru.
Thanks for you help. Our hotels in Peru
were what we expected, very nice and the hotel help went out of
their way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed.
Our guides were outstanding. Always on time and catered to our
needs. Our groups were small except for the Sacred Valley tour where
we had 25 members. Food was plentiful and tasty at each restaurant.
The Hotel Casa Andina in Cusco gave us an upgrade when we returned
from MP which was very nice. Also, the Radisson gave us an upgrade
when we returned to Lima although we stayed only 6 hours.
Again, thanks for your services. I feel very fortunate that I
selected your travel services, because of the services. Several on
the trip thought I was mighty brave to select an unknown agency. I
was impressed with Ivan during our first emails and phone
conversations. I trusted him and he trusted me, this makes for happy
results for everyone.
Sincerely, Mary Earp.

I just returned back to the US from my trip to Peru. I wanted to let
you know how grateful I am for the wonderful experience that you
help me coordinate and plan. I loved all of the sites and felt I had
a unique experience that I will never forget.
The tour planners and the tour
guides were all wonderful and extremely helpful. Each of them were
very polite and knowledgable about their subjects and locations. I
learned alot about Peru and its customs.
The hotel on Machu Picchu (Sanctuary Lodge) and the hotel in Puno
(The Libertador) were excellent and I would recommend anyone to stay
in each of those locations. The San Augustin El Dorado was just
adequate; I found the hotel to be clean and the staff helpful, but
there is too much noise during the evening and mornings; this is
because many of the rooms overlook the central lobby of the hotel
and the acoustics create echos of sound from the front desk and
those people having conversations in the lobby area. Also, the space
heaters in each of the El Dorado rooms I stayed in did not work at
all. I do not think I would recommend the hotel to people unless
they didn't mind a noisy atmosphere.
The Posada del Inca hotel in Bolivia was very nice; I really liked
the rustic feel and intimate setting and the private gardens--the
views of Lake Titicaca and the mountains were spectacular. Although
I didn't realize it would be a hike (literally) up to it. One of the
couples I was travelling with on the first day in Bolivia had
trouble making it up the hillside (they didn't know they would have
to hike to the top to get to the hotel). I would recommend letting
potential guests know that it is a 40 - 45 minute hike from the dock
to the hotel itself. The guides were very helpful and it was good
that our luggage was carried up separately.
The trip was amazing and I just wanted to thank you for all of your
planning. I would recommend you and your staff to everyone I know
who wanted to plan a trip to go to Peru.
Have a wonderful new year!
Regards,
Wendy
