Day 1 (SATURDAY)
Meeting and assistance upon arrival in Quito and transfer to the Hotel for overnight.
Day 2 – (SUNDAY)
Departure from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra (a flight of about two
and a half hours). Passengers are picked up at the airport by our guides and
taken to the Itabaca Canal, then cross to the island of Santa Cruz and
travel to Puerto Ayora.
Santa Cruz (Highlands)
One option is to travel through the highlands of Santa Cruz. Passengers will
observe the twin pit craters and visit Cerro Chato. They’ll be able to
observe the famous giant tortoises.
Additionally, travelers can walk inside the dormant lava tubes.
Day 3 – (MONDAY)
Española (Suarez Point)
Dry landing. Visitors will learn about the lava terrain and cross the
inactive lava fields. Aside from its sea lion colonies, this is one of the
most important sites for bird watching.
Many species, like the hooded mockingbird and red-billed tropic bird, can be
spotted and observed closely. Past the nesting grounds there’s the world’s
largest colony of waved albatrosses.
From May to December their mating rituals are a highlight of the visit.
Afterwards there’s the famous blowhole, where water shoots 23 m (75 ft) up
into the air. Española (Gardner
Bay)
Wet landing on a white coral beach amidst a large colony of sea lions. This
site has no trails, so hiking is not possible.
It’s an open area where you can spot Galapagos hawks, American oyster
catchers, Galapagos doves, hooded mockingbirds, three species of Darwin
finches, yellow warblers, lava lizards, and marine iguanas.
It’s great for swimming and snorkeling, and you can see many Galapagos
marine species like king angelfish, creole fish, damsel fish, parrot fish,
manta rays, white-tipped reef sharks.
Day 4 – (TUESDAY)
Floreana (Cormorant Point)
Wet landing on a greenish-colored beach. Passengers will hike from black
mangrove beds to a large brackish pond, which holds one of the largest
flamingo populations in the Galapagos.
This island is best known for its endemic plant life like the Galapagos
milkwort, passion flower, and button mangrove.
Novice snorkelers can practice on the main beach with playful sea lions;
experienced snorkelers can roam around Devil’s Crown.
Champions
After Cormorant Point, there’ll be a one-hour tour in a dinghy along the
coast to observe: blue footed boobies, sea lions, marine iguanas, and
swallow-tailed gulls.
Deep-water snorkeling, this unforgettable activity lasts about an hour and
it will be like swimming in an aquarium with colorful fish, tame sharks, and
rays.
Floreana (Post Office)
Located on the northern side of Floreana Island, the bay was also called
Post Office because, in 1793, Captain James Colnett installed an empty
barrel to serve as an informal mailbox for sailors who passed by the
Galapagos, taking with them the letters to their destinations.
Today, our visitors continue the tradition by placing unstamped postcards
inside the barrel which reach their destinations free of charge. It can take
weeks or months, or sometimes the cards never arrive at all!
A short walk away from the famous barrel, there’s a tunnel formed by lava
flows. Down a path you can observe the mocking bird of Galapagos, some
species of Darwin’s finches, yellow warbler and lava lizards.
After a short trip in the panga, you’ll make a dry landing at Lookout Point
where you can enjoy a great view among marine birds. Day 5 – (WEDNESDAY)
North Seymour
Dry landing. Guests will see swallow-tailed gulls and sea lions. This site
is a major nesting colony of blue footed boobies and has the largest colony
of the magnificent frigate bird. Travelers will also spot both iguana
species, the marine iguanas and land iguanas, and then hike around the
nesting sites.
Disembark at the docks (Baltra); passengers will take a bus to the airport
for their flight back to the mainland via Guayaquil to Quito.
(AIRFARE INCLUDED).
Meeting and assistance upon arrival in Quito and transfer to the
Hotel for overnight. Day 6 - (THURSDAY)
Colonial City Tour of Quito (4 Hours approx ) Visit starts in Orellana´s
way, drive around the colonial center of Quito and see the stone-carved
façade of Ecuador’s House of Congress depicting scenes from Ecuadorian
history; Independence Square, with the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral
and El Sagrario. Visit the Church of La Compañía (1605), (if open), with its
breathtaking gilded altars, considered the finest example of baroque art in
America and the church and monastery of San Francisco (1535). Visit the art
& crafts gallery of Tianguez. Finally, drive up to el Panecillo Hill to have
a spectacular view of Quito and to see the only winged Virgin in South
America. Overnight at the Four Points Sheraton hotel or similar .
Day 7 - (FRIDAY)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home , or
connection flight to Lima to take an exiting extension to Peru, Cusco and
Machu Picchu .

Our tour to
the islands on Lake Titicaca was a
wonderful day. We had great weather and the people that we met
were very friendly. The island of Taguile was a beautiful little
paradise. The hotel in Puno was very good, with a great
breakfast. It is too bad we could only stay one night. We kept
the room for the second night so that we could freshen up before
going on the bus to Cusco Peru.
Thank you for everything that you have done to make our trip so
enjoyable. Please pass along to Christi our thanks for the great
job that she did in organizing our tour. She was able to
assemble an itinerary that included everything that we asked for
and still was not too rushed. It was an enjoyable, informative
and relaxing time.
Thank you again to all of the staff at
Peru travel Gateway
and your suppliers for making this a wonderful experience.

We had a very nice trip to Peru.
Thanks for you help. Our hotels in Peru
were what we expected, very nice and the hotel help went out of
their way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed.
Our guides were outstanding. Always on time and catered to our
needs. Our groups were small except for the Sacred Valley tour where
we had 25 members. Food was plentiful and tasty at each restaurant.
The Hotel Casa Andina in Cusco gave us an upgrade when we returned
from MP which was very nice. Also, the Radisson gave us an upgrade
when we returned to Lima although we stayed only 6 hours.
Again, thanks for your services. I feel very fortunate that I
selected your travel services, because of the services. Several on
the trip thought I was mighty brave to select an unknown agency. I
was impressed with Ivan during our first emails and phone
conversations. I trusted him and he trusted me, this makes for happy
results for everyone.
Sincerely, Mary Earp.

I just returned back to the US from my trip to Peru. I wanted to let
you know how grateful I am for the wonderful experience that you
help me coordinate and plan. I loved all of the sites and felt I had
a unique experience that I will never forget.
The tour planners and the tour
guides were all wonderful and extremely helpful. Each of them were
very polite and knowledgable about their subjects and locations. I
learned alot about Peru and its customs.
The hotel on Machu Picchu (Sanctuary Lodge) and the hotel in Puno
(The Libertador) were excellent and I would recommend anyone to stay
in each of those locations. The San Augustin El Dorado was just
adequate; I found the hotel to be clean and the staff helpful, but
there is too much noise during the evening and mornings; this is
because many of the rooms overlook the central lobby of the hotel
and the acoustics create echos of sound from the front desk and
those people having conversations in the lobby area. Also, the space
heaters in each of the El Dorado rooms I stayed in did not work at
all. I do not think I would recommend the hotel to people unless
they didn't mind a noisy atmosphere.
The Posada del Inca hotel in Bolivia was very nice; I really liked
the rustic feel and intimate setting and the private gardens--the
views of Lake Titicaca and the mountains were spectacular. Although
I didn't realize it would be a hike (literally) up to it. One of the
couples I was travelling with on the first day in Bolivia had
trouble making it up the hillside (they didn't know they would have
to hike to the top to get to the hotel). I would recommend letting
potential guests know that it is a 40 - 45 minute hike from the dock
to the hotel itself. The guides were very helpful and it was good
that our luggage was carried up separately.
The trip was amazing and I just wanted to thank you for all of your
planning. I would recommend you and your staff to everyone I know
who wanted to plan a trip to go to Peru.
Have a wonderful new year!
Regards,
Wendy
