Day 1 – SAN JOSE:

Transfer from the International Airport to the Hotel in San José. Rental of a 4x4 Daihatsu Bego.
Accommodation in Gran Hotel Costa Rica

Day 2 – SAN JOSE / CAÑO NEGRO:

Breakfast at the Hotel. You can leave the hotel early in the morning and head to Caño Negro
so you can make the most of the adventure. In the afternoon, you can visit the town of Caño
Negro through natural trails where marvels of nature can be admired. Accommodation in Hotel
de Campo Caño Negro

Day 3 – CAÑO NEGRO:

Breakfast at the Hotel. Travel in a comfortable and safe boat through the wetlands of Caño
Negro National Wildlife Refuge, which shelters a wide variety of plant and fish species,
standing out the tarpon, Atlantic tarpon, tropical gar (prehistoric fish), and rainbow bass.

For bird lovers, these make up one of the most diverse and important groups in the area. You
can admire tens of native species. Besides, you can see over 160 mammal species, including
howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys and spider monkeys. Accommodation in Hotel de

Day 4 – CAÑO NEGRO / ARENAL:

Breakfast at the Hotel. On the route to Arenal Volcano, you will find a tourist complex inside
the tropical rainforest including adventure tours, excursions, plant and birdwatching, research,
entertainment and recreation for all ages.

In the afternoon, you can visit Sky Tram Arenal, located in a transition area between the rain
forest and Monteverde Cloud Forest in the Arenal Reserve. You can either enjoy the
spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake from the Sky Tram or take a nice
walk through the trails of exuberant flora and fauna instead. Whatever your choice is, you will
always remember this tour.

Sky Tram is a 15-minute aerial tram tour through the rain forest to the “Miguel Angel”
observatory, where you will have spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake as
well as the Tilarán Mountain Range. Right after, we will take on the Sky Trek tour, consisting of
a zip-line system from mountain to mountain, adding a total of about 4 line kilometers of cable.
This tour will give you the opportunity to fly through a cable and have a unique experience of
adventure and adrenaline at speeds of up to 60 km/h (36 mph) in distances of up to 770 m
(2500 ft) long and 160 m (524 ft) high. The tour also offers observation towers higher than

Day 5 – ARENAL:

Breakfast at the Hotel. Take a morning walk to Arenal National Park through a well-protected
secondary forest, and you will see wildlife such as spider monkeys, white-faced monkeys,
howler monkeys, toucans, and golden orioles, among other species. The trail crosses a lava
flow from 1992 –still steaming as of today– where tourists can learn about the most important

Day 6 – ARENAL / MONTEVERDE:

Breakfast at the Hotel. Today, we will have the opportunity to travel on the highway from
Arenal to Monteverde while surrounded by nature and adventure. Accommodation in Montaña

Day 7 – MONTEVERDE:

Breakfast at the Hotel. This tour to Monteverde Cloud Forest includes a natural history walk in
the morning because wildlife is much more active and you would better appreciate the beauty
of the cloud forest at that time. This tour takes between 3 and 4 hours to complete.

Day 8 – MONTEVERDE:

Breakfast at the Hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit Monteverde ecological sanctuary, which is
a Wildlife Refuge run by a Costa Rican family, including trail walks through a forest with
beautiful viewpoints, two large waterfalls, coffee and banana plantations, and the opportunity
to watch a lot of bird species. You can also see native mammals such as: white-nosed coatis,
Central American agouti, porcupines, sloths and many more, or you can simply picnic and rest
in natural areas surrounded by a tropical forest. The ecological sanctuary was created in 1992
with the aim of protecting 30 hectares (75 acres) of forest located in the Monteverde Pacific
slope. In the past, it was a farm with some coffee and banana plantations. For having a
primary and secondary forest in transition, it has a countless biodiversity of flora and fauna.
This was the main reason why several trails were made: to offer visitors the opportunity to
watch wildlife. Nowadays, the farm’s main activity is ecotourism, supported with entrance fees
for maintaining the place, and conservation projects, aimed at preserving and regenerating the

Day 9 – MONTEVERDE / SAN JOSE:

Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer from Monteverde to San José. Return of 4x4 Daihatsu Bego in
the afternoon. Accommodation in Gran Hotel Costa Rica


Day 10 – SAN JOSE / INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:

Breakfast at the Hotel. Departure to the International Airport at the agreed time.
