Crossing the Andines Lakes. This magnificent itinerary can be realized
from Puerto Montt or of San Carlos de Bariloche. The whole year is
propitious to know and to cross the Mountain chain of the Andes
discovering one of the ecological reservations most important of South
America. The Circuit of navigation is extremely interesting and you will
be able to take this excursion in Puerto Frias, where we will arrive
after having crossed the Lake of the same name for more of twenty
minutes; here it is the place to realize the corresponding steps of
customs; you will be in full jungle valdiviana, exuberant, similar to
the subtropical, in all that possesses a high pattern
of rains ( 3.500 mm per year) what allows big arboreal formations of
larches, cypress of the gauitecas, oak pelín and cinnamon-trees that
were accompanying us in the way to only 4 km from Puerto Frías, finds
the border, we will be in the Paso Perez Rosales and will take course to
Peulla's locality where we will arrive after crossing 28 km. The way is
incredible for the leafy vegetation always green with wild flowers of
varied colours and gigantic trees that prevent in many cases the vision
of the sky and of the sunbeams. Already in Chilean territory and for
this abrupt and sinuous way we will come to Peulla small population of
800 habitants approximately. There it is the Chilean customs and there
are services of hostelries and restaurant.
From this point, place where one is in the habit of staying, we will
restart the trip going to the port of Peulla very near to the city. We
will embark again to continue with the navigation for the lake of Todos
los Santos or Lake Esmeralda, the tour is of approximately 2 hours,
again we will surprise the exuberant vegetation of his coasts and the
green colour emerald of his waters.
We are in an ecological very particular zone for his purity and where at
the end of the tour you will be able to observe with clarity the volcano
Osorno of 2652 mts. We will come to Petrohué, administrative
headquarters of the National Park Vicente Perez Rosales and port of I
arrive of the excursion. The tour begins from this place towards the
jumps of the Rio Petrohué, point of great attraction since for a slope
very declared of the river that drains off into the Todos Los Santos
Lake´s. There take place seven water jumps of great beauty.
To this height of the tour it will take to us towards the Ensenada´s
locality a few kms. of Saltos de Petrohué. In this one, a small and
picturesque populated center located in the faldeos of the volcano
Osorno, You will find a good structure of services of cabins, gastronomy
and possibility of sports activities, coming this way to the zone of the
entry to the most ancient National Park of Chile of 251.000 it has. of
surface. From here you will continue for the route and with a landscape
of great beauty, will come to the Lake Llanquihue with a surface of 877
km ². To straight hand, the wavy meadows sowed with all the tones of
green, constructions of wood and tejuelas typical of the zone,
establishments agriculturalists - ranchers, are alternated in these 64
km that separate you from Pto Varas's locality. Transfer to the Hotel.

Hello all the folks at Peru Gateway Travel,
We had a fantastic time in Peru. We thank you all for making
our trip a success.
The only concern is that the accommodation in Cusco was below
average and we would not recommend the Emparada Plaza (?) to
anyone. Even though the staff was good, the room/bathroom,
breakfast was very bad.
Once again, thanks a lot for making our trip to your country a
memorable one. All the guides, especially Guillarmo in Lima
and Erica in Cusco, were excellent.

We arrived home at 4 o'clock in the
morning, very tired (we had a long lay-over in Amsterdam) but very
very happy. I am so pleased to tell you that our Peru vacation that
you planned for us was excellent! Everything was just as the
itinerary said it would be. We were very pleased with the hotels,
and the transfer people and guides were always there and everybody
was so nice and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about your very
exciting country and its history, particularly about the Quechua
culture. We will always remember the Inti Raymi festival in Cusco. I
am so glad we were able to see that. Of course Machu Picchu was also
a great highlight. And, Michael and I also very much liked Arequipa.
We didn't know much about that city, but we had a very great time
there on our free day and visited the cathedral, spent a lot of time
going through the Santa Catalina monastario and, of course, went to
the museum to see "Juanita". Beautiful architecture there too.
Really, every day was wonderful, and we would like to thank you so
much for all your efforts. Also please extend our thanks to Maria
Carmen who was so helpful on the phone and to Julia, who came to the
hotel our first night to explain many things to us and give us all
our tickets and vouchers. And perhaps you also had something to do
with our last night in Lima at the Libertador. We got a suite -- a
very big beautiful room! Thank you so much.
We wish you and your family all the best, and for sure we will be
recommending Peru Gateway Travel to our friends.
